Petscop 14

"I'm thinking I'm being really productive right now. I think I'm definitely being really productive."
Oh, Paul.

This is where Paul is pretty much at his lowest point. And then the game just deletes his files. It's like the game is beating him down now, as it then proceeds to parrot an actual conversation he had with his mother. Also, Paul's mom is Jill, case closed. Or is it? Why would Paul call his mom by her first name? If Paul is a Leskowitz, wouldn't that mean Anna had a brother?

"Why are you covering your face? ...Oh."
What IS that supposed to mean?

When Care starts saying what Paul said, the text scrolling noise is different. When I got to this part today I started wondering how much else of Care is actually just Paul, but the different text sound has me thinking that she's only a stand-in for him here. Still, the Paul=Care theory holds up. Even if Care never existed, or Paul was never literally Care, the character seems like a fictional version of him.
Paul asks the internet if it's possible to rewrite to a disc, trying to see if it's possible someone edited the game to mess with him. He got no helpful answers. So what's the game really doing? Is it connected online somehow, and there's someone editing it on the other end? Is it really alive?

And then there's the Petscop Discovery Pages. Tony said he was going to release the website at one point but didn't go with it. I get why he didn't, but I still wish I could see what it was going to be.

This episode ends pretty great. The game crashes and Paul swears. It'd be funny if he wasn't being completely ruined by this game.

For this one I had some fun messing around with blender material nodes to make a CD material. I think it came out alright, making the material would have been a lot easier if I was rendering in Cycles. I don't want to render in Cycles though, this project does not require that much CPU power OR the realism. Eevee works just fine. I have to be careful with reflective materials in these because if it gets too reflective you'll see the HDR I'm using, which wouldn't look very cool.

Tomorrow is a tricky one, but simple. I can probably do it.
